RESTORING THOUGHTS Collage. Digital prints on rice paper and canvas. 48x75 inches. 2014 (Made in China, during residency at Red Gate, Beijing)

RESTORING THOUGHS
Restoring Thoughts is basically about the fragility of the object and its intrinsic value,
which has more to do with the idea of its conception, and less with their concrete
existence.
I am trying to reconstruct the idea of fragility through the visual memory of the object.
The images of these works are pretending to be parts of traditional Chinese porcelain, to which I have exaggerated its fragility representing them in paper and fusing with the technique of
¨Mariquitas¨ (Ladybugs), cutout paper dolls, very popular in the 70s in my country.

PALABRAS INVISIBLES (Invisible Words) Installation, Braille words, transparent vinyl words, aluminum and plexiglass. 2013

INVISIBLE

This exhibition offers a subtle questioning about the criterion of visuality conferred on much of the artistic production and at the same time presents a non visual appreciation, supplementing the conceptual structure of the proposal thus expanding the range of perception of art, making it accessible to visually impaired people who use touch to receive written information and recognize the diversity of tangible materials. Like these works involve more to sighted people, allowing them to perceive a somewhat less direct, the conceptual burden of the piece.
The centerpiece of the proposal constituent pieces based on words and phrases with abstract and universal meaning.

SUNGARDEN Ceramics mural at Naugatuck Valley Community College, Connecticut. 36 x 180 inches 2013

SUNGARDEN

The theme of this mural covers the four elements of nature, I try to communicate the life cycle through symbols that relate to the daily lives of humans. This garden is a place of light, a place of openness to the outside world, a space that invites to be filled with the sharing of ideas and emotions. The central image of the mural is a line of land in shape of branches, showing multiple births of the sun as trees or flowers, connecting  with a kind of forest inhabited by numerous symbols, among which we can identify intellectual, affective and ecological meanings.
